National ‘Drive it Day’/‘Ride it Day’ is the annual opportunity to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping heritage on UK roads. Fundraising is an integrated part of ‘Drive it Day’, in which our movement comes together to contribute to a section of society that needs huge help and support – vulnerable children.

In an effort to support the Heritage Skills Academy, long term member of the AOC, Adam Gilchrist has generously donated his TA14 Jensen Woody for the next generation of Vehicle Restoration Engineers, so they can experience and gain the knowledge and skills needed to keep these vehicles alive.

100 year centenary of the most successful Alvis racing driver who 100 years ago in 1923 was the outright winner of the JCC 200 Mile Race at Brooklands driving an Alvis 12/50 at an average speed of 93.29mph. This extremely high- profile international event was clearly pivotal in putting Alvis on the motoring map.

Despite some heavy rain for much of the day, some of it torrential, our annual Sumer Picnic proceeded as planned. Our venue was again the National Trusts Great Chalfield Manor, the magnificent fifteenth - century manor house and beautiful Arts & Crafts – style gardens located near Bradford on Avon, in Wiltshire.
