RAF Alvis Salamander

Developed by Alvis using experience gained from the Saladin and Saracen vechiles, this too was a six all wheel drive chassis with on and off road capability, as specified by the RAF.  It was powered by a 260hp Rolls Royce eight cylinder peterol engine - the B81 Mark 8.

A total of 133 were built, with 88 being supplied to the RAF.  This example entered service in 1958 and saw service at St. Maugan and Biggin Hill.
