Making an AGM more fun
The South West Section, in an attempt to make their invariably pretty boring AGM more interesting andhopefully more enjoyable decided to ‘test the water’ by including this year’s AGM as an integral part of a social event. The event chosen was our now annual Spring Picnic held at Long Park Farm in Kingsbridge, home of our committee member Peter Robson.
The official proceedings were over and done with within an hour with all officer and committee positions proposed /seconded and elected. The barbeque was then lit and the fun began, fortunately the sun shone all afternoon even though rain showers were forecast. As it happens Peter did have a fall back plan allowing for under cover arrangements should things turn inclement by us moving into one of the many barns on his farm. It was difficult to determine which was the more interesting the display of 18 cars including at least 3 Rovers, the beautiful surrounding scenery or the fabulous food emerging from the barbeque including freshly caught trout, various steaks, burgers and some very tasty local sausages.
