The section’s annual gathering was the first time some members had met for over a year but nobody looked a day older of course. Nearly thirty gleaming cars arrived, a number bravely offering themselves for scrutiny by the concours judges.

Silverstone Classic-1

On the 31st July at the Silverstone Classic, a belated Centenary Event, by invitation of the Organisers a variety of Alvises perambulated the track in a sedate convoy as a belated celebration of the Centenary of the marque.

Pakenham Mill 1

The event took place on Saturday 24 July, just a few days after “Freedom Day' and despite a threatened thunderstorm the weather was kind and those attending, had a very enjoyable time socialising, enjoying the varied Alvis on display as well as a couple of Members other motors, comprising an Austin Healey 100/6 and Jaguar XK150 drophead.

Our usual meeting night of the second Thursday had to be moved to July 15th due to closure of the restaurant/pub as a result of Track and Trace during this continuing Covid 19 crisis. Un-daunted and with a lot of emailing and phone calls Steve managed to manoeuvre things so we could meet a week later.

On the 5th July the Wales Section held a picnic at the Dyffryn Gardens, Vale of Glamorgan.

It sounds like an additive found in food but from September E10 fuel will be causing headaches for hundreds of thousands of classic car owners. Rather than being a colouring agent or preservative, E10 is the new grade of unleaded petrol that the British Government will introduce this autumn. And it is potentially damaging to modern classics, classic cars and motorbikes alike.

Snape Maltings

On Friday 9th July 2021, the East Anglia Section ventured, under the guidance of Sue and David Little, to Snape Maltings for a most relaxing day out.

Knettishall Heath

On Wednesday 23rd June the East Anglian Section held what should have been their first post lockdown event, a picnic at Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve organised by Brian Aket. Despite the Covid restrictions the event took place as it was outdoors and could easily be limited to 30 people.

Denbies 1-June 2021

A totally informal gathering at Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking on the second Sunday of each month commencing 09.30. We chat, debate, discuss and a 'hole in the wall' cafe serves excellent refreshments and bacon butties.
