Having had the unnerving experience of a puncture and the sudden loss of air with tubed tyres, I investigated fitting tubeless valves. The tyres are Firestone 6.40-15 tubeless cross plys. The rims have been powder coated and I expected that they would be air tight. Special tubeless valves were then fitted. To date the tyres are holding pressure.
