Charging

Many thanks for the replies. and suggested solutions.  The car is positive earthed, and on the rare occasions that it is used, the headlamp solenoid seems OK.  The clock had stopped long before I got the car, ( until now, I had always thought it to be a wind-up job anyway), but I will check that the heater fan is turning correctly. Graham,  The heater fan and wiper motor should not be polarity sensitive. While you are checking things have a look at the coil connections too. If you are using an early coil the CB pole should be connected to the distributor.   Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 13/03/2015 01:12:01
