I know I have only been a member a short time, (this time, but I was a member back in the 1990s), but I have been a member of the VSCC for very many years and have restored a variety of cars. Parts for earlier Alvises like 12/50s and 12/60s are looked after by a spares register and very good it is too and I think there should be something similar for the cars catered for by the AOC. I know Red Triangle stock a huge amount of stuff but personally I have found their prices rather un-realistic (£240 for the carbon gland in the water pump made my eyes water!,so I didn't use their services.) and I have had several things made as a more economical way of doing things. Brake return springs and brake adjusting eccentrics being a couple and I am using Centaflex couplings on the Carden Shaft rather than the original reinforced rubber discs. I have also out-sourced new brake cables locally very economically. Things like this must be needed by most owners fairly often, does anybody else feel like I do about the need for a spares register?
