My speed 20SB still has the original AC mechanical pump which works fine. I will probably fit an SU pump as back up but would like to keep a spare diaphragm for the AC unit. Can any one advise where I can obtain this part and also if there are a number of different types , which part number to specify. Many thanks Posted by speed20 15/01/2013 18:58:20

For SU petrol pumps, try <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.burlen.co.uk/">http://www.burlen.co.uk/</a><!-- m -->   or  <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.sucarb.co.uk/ProductCategory.aspx?ParentId=16">http://www.sucarb.co.uk/ProductCategory ... arentId=16</a><!-- m --> Posted by johnlayzell 16/01/2013 12:34:56

Thanks John . Both these sites are for the SU pumps. I'm looking for spare parts for the AC mechanical pump originally fitted to the earlier speed models. There is info on the web but mainly confusion where people have recieved the wrong spares. I'm hoping to find someone who has waded through all this confusion already and can tell me where to get the bits.This type of mechanical pump was fitted to Austins , 1950s Alvis and Triumphs but there are different models with limited interchangeability Posted by speed20 16/01/2013 20:13:17

It turns out that the mechanical pump fitted to my car is incorrect and is for a much later car probably post war. The correct pump for the SB is the one shown on page 56 of Nick Walkers book and incorporates a glass bowl filter. The diaphragms for these pumps can be obtained from   Skytrade ( International) Upcott Barton No Mans Land Tiverton Devon EX16 8NT Tel 01884860202  Diaphragm is part number 42387 Filter O Ring is 5593321 Collectors Car spares suggested by Mike Wheadon are very helpful and were able to provide spare glass bowls for the filter  Many thanks to all for the suggestions Regards   John Posted by speed20 28/02/2013 17:20:18
