Speed 20 SC engine block for a New Zealand Alvis.
I am looking for an engine block for the family’s 1934 Speed 20 Alvis SC. 73mm bore and 110mm stroke 2.76 litre engine (also used in 1936 Crested Eagle TF or TG). The car has been in continuous service all its life, and in the family since 1968 when my father, Bob Oakley, bought it. Sadly, the block is cracked between cylinders 2 -3 and 4-5, and elsewhere, and won’t hold any pressure. An attempted repair by sleeving it was unsuccessful and any other repair seems unlikely. I would be grateful for any suggestions of where I could find one.
