In the process of reassembling the cylinder head, I would like to fit a thermostat this time. Can any one tell which thermostat and where I might obtain same?

Hi Nigel,
I have been using AC TC10 bellows thermostats when I can get them.
New old stock on ebay.

They are the correct part for TA/TC21 and are open at 64Deg. C. Being bellows type if they fail they fail open, unlike a waxstat which will fail closed.

Thanks Peter,
All a little premature at the moment. The rubber O ring between the top of the water pump and the aluminium housing on the cylinder head somehow became unseated when the head was put back in place.
Thankfully Martin W has more patience than I, so it was radiator out and remove the water pump housing and free the parts up. Martin has designed a modification should this occur again.
Working against the clock a bit as holidays are looming and a few days later hopefully head off to Goodwood Revival for a day with my Alvis.
