I have been to look at a 12/50 Alvista saloon which would suit me perfectly were it not for the fact that, at 6'2" tall. I cannot sit behand the wheel without my head being pressed into the headlining. The only way I could fit would be to modify the front bench seat to reduce its height. Does anyone have any experience of doing this job on another car and how do-able it is? Of course, I have to take into account that lowering the seat by two or three inches will perhaps put my legs at the wrong angle relative to the pedals, but I would welcome comments from anyone who might have carried out a similar modification.
