Paint Enquiry from New Member "Tyro Jim"!

Hi there Members

I am a very new Member, and not yet an Alvis owner - though I'm on the case.

I do appreciate that this is a bit of a 'piece of string' question, but can anybody give me a general guideline to the following scenario.........

I buy a TD/TE/TF with a 'good' body and paint job, but wish to change the paint colour. I don't want or need a bare-metal body-fettling job, just a good quality respray from an appropriately CV'd supplier.

How much'ish? Any guidance very gratefully received. Many thanks!

I fear your question is like "How long is a piece of string?".....depends on where, who you use, whether they find problems when preparing it, but I would estimate £10,000 for a good one.
Also, I recommend you use original colours whenever possible. There are swatches available of the standard colours for TD/E/Fs. happy hunting!

I guess that's the order of ££ magnitude I would expect (and would be prepared to entertain).
Yes, I'd most certainly use an original colour, as you advise.
