wanted to get the brake cross shaft out on my Speed 20 SA Cross&Ellis to clean it, inspect it and then put it back on the car with fresh grease. Unfortunatley I wasn't successful. Got the cotter pins out which hold various levers and the hand brake lever collar, the four bolts holding the crossshaft brackets are also easily undone but then it appeared, that one can get the cross shaft out only by pulling it out to the offside, which is not possible, as the ash framing of the body is in the way.
Now taking the bodywork off just to smarten up the cross shaft seems to be a bit too much.
Is there a way to get the brake cross shaft out without taking the bodywork off? Where is my mistake?
