Alan,  Contact Chris Prince, I have found him really amenable to helping out with obscure information. He is also willing to send images too which may help consolidate your understanding.   Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 01/03/2017 23:29:15

Alan,  One of the advantages of our hotter and drier climate is the reduction in corrosion. My TA21's chassis is untouched and still has the original paint.   Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 02/03/2017 11:44:31

Alan On my TA the bottom plate of the crossmember is butted against the closing panel of the chassis rail and welded, not very well, along its length, maybe a historic repair?. On my TE the bottom plate of the crossmember is sandwiched    between the chassis closing panel and the underside of the top hat section of the rail and again welded along its length. It does not look as though the crossmember plate extends far into the chassis as the chassis closing plate is only distorted at its edge.As far as I know  the TE is original.  Peter Posted by Peter Martin 04/03/2017 15:24:37

Alan,  Is it possible to post some images especially before you seal the box sections? Images and commentary will certainly assist others venturing down that path.  All the best.   Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 14/03/2017 22:48:34
