TA-Series Proper bonnet

My current Alvis project is a 1948 TA-14 Carbodies DHC.  Which bonnet should I use to be most correct?  The one with doors or the one without doors?  I have several other questions to ask as I get into this project.  How different is the front of the TA-21 bonnet, where the radiator mounts, to the TA-14?  I have heard that the Radiator bonnet (shell in US) is nearly the same between the TA-21 and TA-14.  Is that assumption true or follie? Thanks in advance,  Alan Posted by alsfarms 28/12/2012 05:30:33

I have had my 1949 Carbodies drophead since 1964 and we have had 8 TA14s in the family (5 Carbodies dropheads and 3 Mulliner saloons). As far as I know, there was never a version without the opening flaps on the bonnet.  Good luck with the restoration.  David. Posted by DavidMJS 28/12/2012 09:49:00

Besides the TA-14 DHC,I am also looking at a TA-21 Mulliner Sedan project.  Does anyone, with experience on both 14's and 21's, know how different the main body is between the two?  I am speaking from the bonnet fit  to the rear doors?  Also, how different are the radiator cowls between the two models?  Could someone share a picture of the rolling chassis from a TA-21.  Hopefully, you can tell I am trying to school myself on these two Alvis Models.  Alan Posted by alsfarms 28/12/2012 12:43:35
