Anyone here race with the VSCC? Just I am debating as part of a huge sort out selling nearly everything (Well the TA14, Berkley, and a few of the bikes) and getting something suitable to play with at VSCC events..  Just wondered if people have done it how they have found the costs etc... Hi Graeme,  Yes, a couple of years ago I started to race a standard 12/50 with the VSCC, also hill climbing, sprinting, rallying and, well, that's about it.  You might also want to ask this question on the VSCC's Forum, however if I can help answer any questions, by all means send me an email or post here or call Jeff Edwards, the new Comp Sec for the AOC.    Best Wishes  Dan Posted by dangeoghegan 01/08/2012 09:02:10

Dan,  At the risk of insulting you was it competitive (the car never seen your driving to know otherwise).. or I suppose the other way is did you have other racers to play with? Posted by Eaurougeuk 01/08/2012 19:36:00

Come for a ride and judge for yourself!  There were 5 standard 12/50s at Prescott, 3 at Pembrey, and so on, so plenty of sparring and fun.  In its day would challenge a Nash or a Riley Brooklands, and still does where you find unmodified ones.    We will be at Loton Park next month, come and watch and talk to a few people.  Dan Posted by dangeoghegan 10/08/2012 13:39:20

Hi Dan, I think half the trouble is people that have have never sampled the delights of a 12/50 miss out so much in life. As Cecil Clutton wrote "we cannot but consider it one of the classic designs of the time, and it remains of all Vintage sports cars the one which needs least apology". I reckon that sums it up.
