Manifold Identification

In the clean up of the garage of a deceased Alvis owner we found an exhaust and inlet manifold. we think it is from a single carburettor early Three Litre model. There are no numbers on the inlet manifold, but the exhaust is stamped DA11216 and C 5845. It is definitely from a 6 cylinder car, but during his 60 year involvement in the Marque, he had owned numerous models. Any assistance will be gratefully received. Phil,  You are correct, the manifolds are from an early TA21 that was fitted with the Solex 30PAAI dual choke carburetor. Like many in the UK I suspect that the car may have undergone a conversion to twin SU's. The early conversions kept the exhaust manifold with the addition of a plate welded where the hot spot with the inlet manifold used to be. So perhaps this was a later conversion as you have the pair? The number of TA21's with their original Solex can probably counted on the fingers of one hand.   Regards   Richard Melbourne Posted by RichardWallach 16/11/2014 00:43:22
