Please can any one advise on the material used for the packing in the early water pump and where to obtain this. I have been told Crane seal or Payens Packing. Looking on the John Crane website there is a 1/4 inch section braided material but Im not sure if this is suitable for rotating parts or intended for valve packing. many thanks.
