I am urgently looking for  a 2 1/4-inch Diameter Smith Amperemeter (1934 Silver Eagle) and two 2 1/4 Smith Water-Temp.Instruments (Silver Eagle and 1937 Speed 25 Saloon) which are not original in my cars. Furtheron I am looking for a hubcap cover for the Silver Eagle which I lost somewhere on the road. Can anybody help? Eckard Posted by Eckard Guennewig 13/09/2012 14:37:14

Is the temperature gauge still available and how much were you asking?   I have worked out how to fix these capillary temperature gauges. You need a little patience, a lathe to make connectors and a supply of ether. The latter is actuallty the hardest to find as we no longer use it to anaesthetiase patients!!"  Steve Laurence, Speed 20 SD, DYE 166 Posted by g7psz 24/10/2012 19:44:33

Yes,I am interested in the water temp.instrument.An overhaul should be possible, only the size for the dashboard is normally the problem. How much do you ask for yours? Could you mail some photos?  Best Regards Eckard Posted by Eckard Guennewig 26/10/2012 10:09:43

I wonder if what you describe might be applicable to my temp gauge as well regarding lathe and ether. Would be much obliged if you drppoed me a line on this.   Best regards  Joachim Epperlein Posted by jofrey 27/10/2012 20:35:25

I assume byhub cap cover , you mean grease cap cover; which type do you have - the hexagonal aluminium one that sticks out, which I have (i.e not chrome on brass or the SA speed 20 type which remain flush to the wheel hub.  steve horne Posted by horne 07/12/2012 19:37:19
