South West Section Drive It Day

The South West Section decided to hold a Drive it Day on Exmoor in Devon in addition to our usual day in Cornwall.  The run commenced at The Anchor Inn at Exbridge and crossed  Exmoor to Dunster then on to Porlock  via a trip through Minehead town centre before stopping for lunch at The Ship Inn at Porlock Weir.

We then travelled over the famous Porlock Hill via the forest toll route then down the other side via Countisbury Hill to Lynton. It was then across Exmoor again via Simonsbath to Exford  where some of us enjoyed tea and cake. We then travelled south across the moor down Winsford Hill, through some quite staggeringly beautiful country side and on through the pretty Exmoor town of Dulverton before arriving back at The Anchor Inn in Exbridge.

The consensus view - A wonderful day out in great company driving our Alvis cars in beautiful countryside was enjoyed by all.  It is very likely that a Drive it Day in both Devon and Cornwall will become a regular annual event - certainly Exmoor did us proud.
