SE Section Sussex Drive It Day
Our esteemed President Frank Kay and his lady wife Joan, arranged for a non-driving, Drive it Day within the government regulations and even from a legal and efficient social distance, the pleasure in experiencing a gathering after such a long time was palpable.
The venue chosen was perfect, with the social distancing rules, paramount. A very large car park displaying 11 Alvis cars, 1 Stalwart plus Cobra’s and other classic examples. 24 AOC members and a total of 60 enthusiasts, enjoyed a socially distanced Drive it Day.
They were all warmly admired by enthusiasts and civilians alike. The food and service were great, as we have experienced on previous occasions at the 16th century Fountain Inn which has been famously mentioned in the works of Hillaire Beloc and was the setting for Paul McCartney’s hit song ‘Wonderful Christmas Time’.
The cars were gleaming, the faces beaming – thank you so much Frank and Joan.
