East Anglia Section AGM. Sunday 6th April.
Once again The Hare at Long Melford was the venue for our annul general meeting followed by a splendid roast lunch for those wanting to socialise afterwards.
There was a lower than usual turnout of members but with significant apologies for absence. The Chairman welcomed the attendees including a couple of new members. We reviewed our successful year and discussed our planned future events. All members of the committee were re-elected and the Chairman was re-elected to represent the Section as a Board Director. Our Chairman invited members to debate several topics which are currently being discussed at great length following our Membership survey and our own Section survey. The subject of driving events came up for discussion especially in the light of us having to cancel one of last year’s driving events. In order to address this we are planning to introduce elements of driving/navigation for our Section Day in July.
The encouragement of younger drivers/owners of Alvis cars was discussed at length and by a clear majority the attendees felt that the Alvis Owner Club should merge with the Alvis Register for a variety of valid reasons. The Chairman has reported to the Board the lively matters discussed.
Beautiful April sunshine brought a good selection of pre and post war Alvis cars.
