Alvis Post Christmas Lunch 28-Jan-2024
It was a lovely winter’s day for a gentle run through the Suffolk countryside and our first lunch of the year, if a little on the chilly side! Nevertheless, equipped with warm clothes, David and Rachel Halsall did brave the temperature to arrive in their glistening green Firefly with the hood down! Trevor and Sue Hale were there in their lovely Grey Lady as were Malcolm and Val Kindell in “MUF”, their superb TA21 DHC. My wife Jenny spotted MUF earlier in the day going past our house which puzzled us as we are not on the obvious route to the lunch venue for Malcolm, and she received a toot as a reward! Later we found he was not just out for a ramble but collecting Claire Symes from the next village to give her a lift. In all, twenty members were present and the lunch provided by The Bull at Bacton was as usual excellent. Tender, tasty meat, fresh vegetables and huge Yorkshire puddings were the order of the day. A big thank you to Brian Aket for arranging the event.
